Most motorsport businesses pick a lane.

An agency does sponsorship and stays out of the garage. A coach works on the driving and leaves the commercial side alone. A consultant handles a team's business affairs and never meets the driver. Everyone does their own job well, and the driver still ends up with three unconnected plans that were written by three people who rarely share a coffee.

That is the problem we set Motorized Group up to solve.

There are three of us, and each of us takes care of one part of it. Willie Paterson runs sponsorship: finding the brands, building the case, delivering the programme and getting it renewed. Graeme Cleland handles team representation: the commercial and operational side of a racing team that gets squeezed when the calendar gets busy. Alister McRae coaches competitors: performance, preparation, media handling, and the commercial education that turns a fast driver into a fundable one.

Three disciplines, run by three people who actually speak to each other. When we take on a driver, the sponsorship plan and the coaching plan are written in the same room. When we work with a team, we know what the drivers coming through that team actually need commercially, because we coach some of them.

That last part is the bit clients really benefit form. Sponsors get proposals all the time from people who can't talk credibly about performance. Teams get drivers who are quick and can't hold a room. Drivers get a coach and a separate conversation about money that never quite joins up.

We think the three belong together. If you disagree, reply and tell us why. We've got enough laps round the sun under our belt to cope with being told we're wrong.
